Lupton Meadows Reservoir is a 127.85 acre mined gravel reservoir complex, located on the west side of the South Platte River between Fort Lupton and Platteville. Three of four cells have been completed and final reclamation is estimated to be complete in 2025. A conditionally approved slurry wall surrounds the perimeter of the entire water storage complex. Total water storage once complete is estimated at 1,500 acre feet. The site has good access to the South Platte River as well as the Lupton Bottom Ditch, to allow for efficient fill and release from the river or Lupton Meadows/Bottom Ditch system. There are 132 shares of Lupton Meadows included that are being use in a Substitute Water Supply Plan in coordination with the gravel mining operation. Estimated consumptive use of the shares in the SWSP is 132 acre feet or 1 acre foot per share.
