The Elkhead land consists of 396 acres more or less and has been in the same family for generations. Approximately 250 acres are being farmed with approximately 40 acres of dryland alfalfa and the rest being planted into winter wheat. The land and area are excellent for both deer and antelope and does qualify for landowner vouchers.

The Elkhead Reservoir State Park is a Colorado state park borders the land. Hunting in the area is also excellent for deer, elk and antelope. Forest service access points are close by which provide access to the Quaker Mountain, Bears Ears and the Black Mountain Areas.

The land is located approximately 25 miles from Hayden, Colorado and approximately 15 miles from Craig, Colorado. The land borders county road 29 which is a good year around maintained road. The land is in game management unit 4 which provides over the counter elk opportunities and landowner vouchers for both deer and antelope.
